Case IH 8120 annoying power loss

my 2010 Case IH 8120 (10.3L Iveco) is becoming a nightmare to start. every year before harvest I start it up, but dies immediately, and then takes forever to prime. Now, it’s happening even if it only sits for a day. I suspect a bad check valve since bleeding the fuel thermostat helps, but I can't find where it's located.
on top of that, I’m losing major power. engaging the separator takes forever to hit 2100 RPM, and any load even just lifting the head drags the RPMs down

roading is even worse, the engine hits 80% load and just bogs out. any ideas on the check valve location or why I'm losing so much muscle?

On those Ivecos, the check valve is usually in the fuel filter housing. If you're losing power, it probably isn't getting enough fuel when it is working hard, maybe a bad filter or lift pump. I would just replace both before harvest to avoid problems.

That power loss sounds like it could be the injectors or a turbo boost leak. Look for cracks in the intake boots and check for error codes. The fuel system could also let air in overnight, which can make it hard to start.

The check valve and power loss might be related. If air is getting into the fuel system, this will cause both issues. Pressure test the fuel line from the tank to the injectors. You should search for that leak before you're stuck in the field.
