Hello, does anyone ever had problems on a Puma rear diferential? Mine makes a strange noise either gear on or neutral. I’ve done a repair in the planetary gears but the noise still exists.

You might have a bearing going out in the different housing. It might get worse fast, so don't wait too long. Sometimes it's worth doing an early diagnosis even though it's gonna cost you some dime.

Yep, I've seen similar issues, the noise could be coming from worn bearings or the ring gear mesh. Check for any unusual stuff in the bearings and inspect the gear contact pattern well for any misalignment

Have you also checked the oil level and quality to see if they are right? low or contaminated oil can make existing wear more noticeable. Did you notice if your Puma whines or hums both in gear and neutral?

If yes, it could be bearing wear.

If you've already sorted the planetary gears and the noise keeps up, it might be the ring and pinion or the bearings inside the diff. A few Puma 145CVX owners have run into wear in the housing that only shows when the machine's working hard. Did you happen to spot any metal in the oil or check how tight the bearings were when you put it back together?
