I’ve been taking my Magnum through some really tough mud lately, and my brakes are feeling more like a suggestion than a command.
With moisture seeping in, mud building up everywhere, and seals that seem to be struggling,
what maintenance routines can actually keep your brakes working when the weather is trying to take them down?

After a muddy run, I hose everything down and take a look at the pads and calipers for any dirt. A bit of lubricant on the pivot points helps keep everything responsive without making a mess.

Here’s a quick tip: I lift the wheels, spin them by hand, and squeeze the brake. I give extra care to any areas packed with mud, and a gentle clean-up makes sure the brake feels firm instead of squishy.

When I’ve had a heavy mud day, I take the wheels off, check the seals,
clean off any debris from the rotors, and flex the brakes a few times.
It really feels like a reset for dependable stopping power.
