I'm working on a case 310u for a friend. He's having a hard time finding a clutch kit. It's got the 8.5 inch, 10 spline disk, 1 1/8 pilot shaft. I know parts are rare for these machines. What I'm wanting to find out from the experts is will a pressure plate from a dx25 fit in the 310? I know I'll have to locate a new disc. Here's the specs for the dx clutch:

DX25 - 8-1/2" Clutch Kit, w/ Bearings - New

OEM Cross Reference Numbers
450011NKIT, SBA320450010, SBA320450011

Product Specifications
Size = 8-1/2" || Flywheel Step = 0.019" || PPA Levers = 3 || Flywheel Disc Spec = Woven, w/ 15/16" 10 Spline Hub, Solid Center || New/Reman = New || Sold As = Each

The DX25 clutch kit isn’t compatible, the 310U has a 1 1/8" pilot shaft, while the DX25 disc features a 15/16" 10-spline hub. The pressure plate may fit the flywheel, but you'd have to get a custom disc machined. It might be a good idea to check salvage yards or look into aftermarket suppliers, such as Discount Starter & Alternator.

I know the 310u clutch discs are still available new. I think I'll order one along with the dx25 pressure plate just to test it out.

It's definitely worth checking but make sure that the DX25 pressure plate's clamping force and diaphragm height are in line with the 310U specs. If they're misaligned you might run into issues like poor engagement or excessive wear. Sourcing a suitable 310U disc is a smart choice too.
