i know nothing about these things and my local dealer is drawing a blank....On top of my motor is a white plastic jug that sits just past half way back from the front of the engine, it is bone dry and i am not sure if it is for the rad or maybe power steering as there is a hose that runs from it back under the fire wall and into where the gauges and steering column are. Does anyone know what this jug is for?

Most likely your coolant overflow/expansion tank. If it's bone dry, top it off with the right mix of coolant and water and keep an eye on it because being empty could mean a leak somewhere in the cooling system

The white plastic jug you're describing is almost certainly the reservoir for the hydraulic steering and brake system. This isn't for coolant on a JX75. It holds the fluid that powers your steering, and since it's bone dry, you need to top it up immediately like @min min also suggested. Use Case IH Hy-Tran Ultra or an equivalent universal hydraulic or transmission fluid, and don't use standard power steering or brake fluid. Fill it to the line, and if it keeps draining, you've got a leak.
