Anyone dealt with rotor motor reversed on Case IH?

Got a Case IH with a weird one. Had a wiring issue at the rotor solenoid, got that patched up, now the rotor motor speed is running backwards. I’ve already checked the wiring and it all looks right, but something isn’t adding up. Anybody run into this before? Could it be polarity on the motor or something tied back to the solenoid harness? Not looking to burn time chasing ghosts if someone’s already been through this. Any advice would help.

I’ve seen this happen before and in many cases it isn’t the wiring itself but how the hydro rotor drive reports speed when the valve shifts at certain ranges.

The display can show negative rpm which making it look like the rotor is reversing even though the separator is still working as intended. If you bump the rotor speed up you may notice the reading goes back to positive. But true polarity issues are rare unless the harness was actually rewired incorrectly, so before tearing into it again I’d suggest running a calibration and checking how it behaves under load. If everything else engages and threshes normally it’s often just the way the system reports rather than the motor actually running backwards.

Sure, if it's a DC motor, reversing the wires will change the direction it spins. See if the solenoid wires got switched or if a relay is acting up. Also, make sure the grounds are good, a bad ground can cause strange issues.
