If you've just swapped a hose or fixed a cylinder and the lift feels a bit spongy, you might be wondering how to get rid of that last stubborn bit of air. What methods do you usually rely on, do you find that pumping cycles, moving the bucket, or even turning off the engine helps? What really works for you?

I typically cycle the bucket a few times while the engine’s off, then fire it up and pump slowly. That usually lets the air escape without any issues.

I find that pumping the controls with the engine off and then gently moving the bucket works really well. If there are stubborn bubbles, a quick look at the bleed valve near the cylinder can help clear them out fast.

I usually start with several slow pump cycles while the engine is off, then I crank it up and move the bucket through its entire range. This usually helps any trapped air escape easily.
