Working on a Case combine 2188 with a hydro and 2-speed issue. Ive rebuilt and tested both the motor and pump, twice, and found nothing wrong, but the problem persists. Its running 2200-2500 RPM at 14.5-16.5mph on hills, with 220-300 charge pressure. At this point, i'm thinking the motor and transmission are fine, and the issue is somewhere in the hydraulic system. Im out of ideas and the owner needs it soon. Any advice would be a big help.

Been down that road with a 2388 before, it turned out to be a worn bypass valve in the hydro system causing pressure loss under load. Try checking the relief valve settings and any internal leaks in the control block. Small things can affect the performance sometimes. Hope this helps! Let's what the others here say.

Since the motor and pump are good, I'd take a closer look at the hydraulic control valves or solenoids, a sticky or weak valve could cause inconsistent performance. Also electrical signals to the hydrostat and a weak signal can affect how the system responds under load.

Have you checked the charge filter and relief valve yet? And does the issue show up more in high gear, low gear, or only under load?
