You’re looking at a Kubota or excavator that’s not in the best shape, and the hydraulics are sluggish. Before you let frustration take hold, let’s discuss some effective techniques to flush, bleed, and purge air, ensuring your system runs smoothly without becoming a muddy mess.

After working on a muddy job site my excavator's hydraulics felt like they were hesitating before moving. I flushed the system, cracked the lines, and released the air. Just five minutes later, it was responsive again.

After swapping a hose mine moved like a sloth, and I honestly thought something was really wrong. Turned out, it was just air trapped everywhere. I bled the lines and cycled the controls, and suddenly it felt brand new, no longer fighting me with every little movement.

This happened after I bought a used Kubota that had been sitting for way too long. Everything seemed slow and off. A full flush and a good bleed brought it back to life. It's amazing how much smoother everything runs once you get rid of the air and debris.

that sluggish feeling sounds like the spongy effect of air bubbles. If the fluid looks milky in the sight glass, you’ve got aeration. maybe after you flush the system, let the machine sit for about 30 minutes. It gives the tiny bubbles time to rise to the top of the tank so you aren't just pumping them right back into the lines when you start up

You make a solid point, it's straightforward, useful, and often goes unnoticed. I appreciate you sharing that
