As you finish up your last project before the holidays, you can’t help but glance at that Case IH machine, anticipating its idle days ahead. You’ll want to check the fluids, battery, and covers anything to ensure it’s in good shape for January. What steps do you take to prep your equipment before you put it away for the holiday break?

I always check all the fluids first thing. One winter, I didn't, and I was surprised to find the coolant was low when I got back. Now, I fill everything up, let it run for a bit, and park it all clean, so I don't have a problem in January.

I usually start with the battery. I left a machine sitting for too long a few years back, and it barely started after the break. Ever since, I disconnect the battery, put a cover on the machine, and make sure the cab is clean before locking up.
