When you're out in the field with the PTO engaged, it’s natural to wonder if you’re doing too much or not enough. So, how frequently should you be greasing those shafts? And what are the best tips to ensure they keep running smoothly without any hiccups?

Found that out the hard way after a noisy experience with my PTO last year. Now I grease mine every 8 hours if I'm working it hard, and I always wipe the grease fittings first. Clean grease is always better than just guessing if it's enough.

I just grease my PTO daily if it's getting used a lot. I also keep an eye out for dry splines or overheating. Not enough grease is way worse than too much.

Had an old machine that needed a lot of attention. I grease it before long days, and then again if it's been working really hard. Pumping grease in slowly until I see the fresh stuff come out keeps it running well.
