A stupid question probably but here it goes. Fitting a gps on an older model is it doable not not worth the headache? Honestly looking at this as something that I want to do as a diy guy not that I absolutely must. At a certain point I will consider an upgrade to the newer models, but for now I want to see if it's possible.

Probably doable and maybe a fun challenge if you're fine with a ton of electrical work. Personally I'm a hammer kinda guy so if I can't whack it, there's no fixing
