I’ve been sitting in the cab, waiting for RTK to lock while the field and daylight are slipping away.
What adjustments or routines actually help speed up lock time on Case IH units?
I’d love to hear your real-life tricks, settings, and patience-saving habits.

I’ve spent way too much time staring at that waiting for RTK screen. Now, I make sure to turn everything on 10–15 minutes early, park where I have a clear view of the sky, and leave the receiver running while I’m fueling. Most of the time, it locks in before I even start moving

After losing an entire headland just waiting for a signal, I decided to change up my approach. Now, I start the machine first, let the receiver warm up, make sure I’m not parked near bins or trees and I avoid cycling power. It might seem simple, but these little changes have really cut down my lock time.

After one season of watching the sun go down, I knew I had to adjust my routine.
I make sure my firmware is up to date, I start the GPS as soon as I get to the yard, and I let it sit with a clear sky view.
Doing this usually lets the RTK lock in quickly enough to race against the clock.
