During a tough field pass, I noticed the engine was acting up, power was dropping and the RPMs were sluggish.
What quick checks, simple tricks, or reliable habits do you use to ensure
your Case IH stays strong when it’s loaded up?

If your power decreases, check the air filter right away; a clogged filter can really strangle the engine when it's under load. Keep an eye on the boost pressure too, if it's low, you might be facing turbo problems or intake leaks that are draining your power. Address it before you’re dragging through the rest of harvest season.

A restricted fuel filter can really hurt you when you're pushing heavy loads. Even a bit of clogging can starve the engine and cause a power drop. It’s smart to swap out the filters proactively during busy times, don’t wait until you notice a problem. It’s a small price to pay to maintain productivity when every minute counts.

Keep an eye on your EGT temps when under load. If you notice them rising too much, something might be blocking airflow or fuel delivery. Also, make sure your DEF levels and quality are on point, dirty DEF can trigger a derate and feel like a power loss.

Today’s diesels are sensitive about their emissions systems, and a fault can impact performance when you're working hard
