What are some tried-and-true tips for towing stuff with Case IH tractors? I'm talking about getting the hitch right, balancing the weight, braking smoothly, and staying safe out in the field. What works for you to keep things running smoothly and securely?

When towing with your Case IH, make sure you're using a ball hitch and safety chain. Balance the weight, keeping around 60% on the front. Drive slowly and brake softly. Buckle up and secure your load

yep. for me the number one thing with any of the newer Case IH models, especially the MFDs, is ballast.
Before you even hitch up anything heavy, check your front to rear weight split.
If you're pulling a tillage tool or a big cart, you want a minimum of 35% on the front axle to keep steering control and stop those nasty rear wheel slips. Don't be afraid to throw on more suitcase weights than you think you need.

Absolutely. It's essential for MFD tractors to maintain at least 35% of their weight on the front axle when they're under heavy loads. Having the right ballast is key, it helps avoid wheel hop, boosts traction, and lessens the strain on the drivetrain. Remember, it's always best to weigh your equipment instead of just estimating, scales provide accurate measurements.
