I’ve found out the hard way that using the wrong hydraulic oil in cold weather can really ruin your day.
What’s your go-to grade for those frigid temps?
I’m all ears for any suggestions you have to keep things flowing nicely when it’s icy!
When it gets cold, I always reach for a synthetic hydraulic oil something like ISO 32.
It stays nice and fluid so everything runs smoothly even in freezing temps.
It definitely saves me from morning headaches
I go with ISO 46 during winter, even though it’s a bit thicker it does a great job in the cold while still protecting the system. I learned that the hard way after my pump nearly froze one winter.
Definitely been there with cold starts! In winter I rely on synthetic 5W-30 hydraulic oil. It keeps everything flowing without that sluggish start. It’s amazing how such a small change can make a big difference in the cold.
