Best upgrades for the 1480 Case IH

Has anyone here already managed to squeeze more power out of the DT466 in a 1480?

Mine runs decent but I'm looking for a little extra grunt, especially when thrashing gets heavy. I'm curious what the top upgrades are these days. What worked for you? Any input would do.

@gren444de Man, extra grunt DT466 is music to my ears! For 1480s, folks usually hit the fuel pump first, maybe a bigger turbo. Don't forget your pyro and boost gauges if you do anything! How much power are you hoping to gain?

Yeah, you can definitely wake up that DT466 a bit, start with turning up the pump, maybe larger injectors, just keep an eye on EGTs and reliability though

If you're looking for a nice performance boost without breaking the bank, upgrading to a T04B turbo (or something similar) is definitely a smart choice. If you haven't already, consider adding an intercooler, and don't forget about getting a better fuel pump along with larger injectors. The DT466s really thrive on extra air and fuel, just keep an eye on your EGTs and be cautious with any timing adjustments. With these simple modifications, you can see an increase of about 50 to 75 horsepower.
