Bought aftermarket swing backhoe attachment for my 2021 or 2022 Case SR 160. I need a source to purchase switch to energize cylinder on BH attachment. Does Polarity matter when hooking wires to cylinder terminals. Where should I hook wires for source. Is there an existing switch available on control panel.

@Jim Harrington nah, for the solenoid on a hydraulic cylinder, polarity usually doesn't matter.
It's just an electromagnet, so you can hook up the two wires either way.
The important thing is where you get your power from. You need to tap into a switched power source, not constant power, so the circuit is only live when the key is on. you'll find a good source right at the fuse panel in the cab

@Jim Harrington I agree with @FarmerBoy2025. Make sure you tap into a switched power source so the cylinder only energizes when the skid steer is on

Okay, so first, see if there's a free switch on the control panel. If not, just get a momentary switch from any electrical parts store. When you hook it up to the cylinder, make sure you get the polarity right, positive goes to positive, and negative goes to negative. Then, connect the switch wires to a power source, like the battery.
