Sure, new models are always eye-catching, but there’s something to be said for the older Case IH machines that have consistently proven their worth. They’re reliable, simpler to repair, and still manage to get the job done without all the flashy extras.

What older Case IH machines have you come across that still perform admirably, and do you believe they’re a smarter investment compared to buying new ones?

I first got to use a Case IH 1086 when I was working with row crops. That tractor was old, but it could still pull heavy stuff no problem. Since it was simple to build, fixing it was quick, and getting parts was easy. Compared to new models with all their crazy tech, I think buying older Case IH tractors is worth it because they're reliable and cheap to keep running

Used to drive an old Case IH 685 on a little farm real simple, real tough, and it still did what it needed to do.

When I used to help my neighbor, their Case IH 895 just kept going, season after season. It was easy to fix, had no fancy stuff, and proved that buying older stuff can be smarter
