Out in the field and your Case IH isn’t performing like it should? That’s a tough spot to be in. Before you take any drastic measures, what quick checks do you run? Do you look at the fuel, check the air filters, or maybe test some sensors to pinpoint the culprit and get back to work?

Always start with the air filter. You'd be surprised how often that fixes it, mainly if it's dusty. Then do the fuel filter, then read the error codes. That fixes most performance stuff in a few minutes.

I keep a code reader in the truck just for this. Get the codes first, so you aren't guessing. Check fuel pressure and boost if it's a turbo thing. Doing it this way will save you time.

Check easy stuff first, fuel, DEF, coolant. Then check for leaks or loose hoses. Usually, it's something simple you can fix fast, not a big fix that needs parts or a call.
