Winter tractor oil what are you running?

As you start your tractor on a brisk winter morning, you can’t help but think about whether that oil will flow easily or resist the cold. What viscosity are you running this winter, and what’s your reasoning? Let’s hear your choices and keep the conversation going.

Switching to 5W-40 synthetic last winter made a big difference. Now, it cranks easier, the oil flows better, and I’m not worried about straining the engine anymore

In winter, I stick with 10W-30. It’s thin enough to flow well in the cold but still provides good protection as things warm up. Nothing too fancy just a dependable choice that’s easy to find, especially with fluctuating temps.

After one frustrating morning of a slow start, I switched to 5W-30 for winter.
Now it cranks smoothly, produces less smoke, and the engine sounds much happier when it’s cold and I’m not a fan of waiting around.
